Bio:
Rod Cook is a well respected, in demand Seattle area guitarist known for his stylistic versatility and soulful, melodic playing as well as his smooth vocal style. Rod has worked as a professional musician for over forty years. He is known for his collaborations with former Steve Miller Band guitarist James “Curley” Cooke, singer/songwriter/bassist Laura Love (recording seven albums with her, two of which were released on Mercury Records, and touring the United States, Canada and Europe through the ’90’s and early 2000’s), The Voice finalist Vicci Martinez, Northwest icon Little Bill Englehart and many others as well his exploits with Rod Cook and Toast, a band performing original and cover material based in blues, rock, country, Americana, surf and American roots music in general that has been performing since 1996 and has released two albums. Rod has also backed up blues legend Taj Mahal and opened as a solo act for numerous internationally known artists. He has been received several nominations for the Washington Blues Society’s “Best Of The Blues” Awards receiving the award for “Best Acoustic Guitar” in 2004, 2006 and 2015 and “Best Electric Guitar” in 2004, 2012 and 2015. He currently performs in a variety of bands as well as solo engagements around the Northwest. His solo acoustic act consists of Blues, Americana and classic cover and original material. In 2018 he released his first solo acoustic album Uncooked.
