Ohme Gardens is a hidden enchantment
written by Sheila G. Miller
It was a massive project—transplanting trees, hauling buckets of water and stone to the site, and turning the area into a lush, green landscape. The Ohmes planned the gardens to be a private family spot, but eventually opened it to the public.
Today, the 9-acre property is owned and managed by Chelan County, and Ohme Gardens lives on. It’s filled with green spots perfect for photo ops and breathtaking scenery—look for the Hobbit Bench and the Sylvan Pool, or get off the beaten path with a walk to two other pools or Enchantment Falls.
A popular wedding site, the park is open seven days a week from April 15 to October 15. Adults enter for $8, kids 5 and under are free and 6 to 17 are $4.
