The Inaugural Regence BlueShield Hood to Coast Washington presented by Nike beamed a national spotlight on the idyllic coastal town of Seabrook, located in Pacific Beach. Here, visitors can connect to nature, breathe ocean air and dine in a variety of great restaurants, all within a five-minute sprint on eco-friendly boardwalks and paths comprised of reclaimed crushed oyster shells. Many coastal towns claim that magical feel, but Seabrook truly has something special, with an uncluttered, unspoiled mile stretch of beach, spectacular oceanfront and village-centered cottages and unprecedented charm. About 4,000 runners, walkers, fans and friends descending into town on a sunny Saturday in early summer were warmly welcomed by town merchants and restaurateurs, ready to serve. The event raised more than $20,000 for the Junior Achievement of Washington as well as the Seabrook Community Foundation and hunger relief in Grays Harbor.

SEAFOOD

A family-friendly respite rests on the corner of this enchanting beach town. Mill 109 Restaurant & Pub serves lunch and dinner daily as well as weekend breakfasts. Traditional fare this is not— bread pudding French toast, Dungeness crab cake Benedict and smoked salmon scrambles for breakfast, razor clam sandwiches and longshoreman’s fish and chips for lunch, and comfort foods such as meatloaf and lasagna. This is a staple town gathering spot.
