Gastronomy: Treveri Cellars

Treveri Cellars Premium Tours and Tastings

written by Cara Strickland

Treveri Cellars is a family-owned sparkling wine house producing delicious bubbles in the Méthode Champenoise style. Head winemaker Jüergen Grieb is originally from Trier, Germany, where he studied with some of the most decorated winemakers in the country. He’s been making wine in Washington since 1982. Located in Yakima Valley, the tasting room is a wonderful place to pass an afternoon. But for an even more immersive experience, you can go behind the scenes on a premium tour (once a month in June, July and August, by reservation only). You can meet the winemakers, Grieb and his son Christian, taste reserve wines, and— perhaps most exciting—bring a bottle through the last stage of fermentation and take it home for a special occasion (like a Tuesday).
