In 2020, breweries around the world, including more than thirty in Washington, participated in the Black is Beautiful initiative, an effort to raise awareness and funds for social reform. Brewers who signed on produced their version of the Black is Beautiful imperial stout base recipe, with 100 percent of the proceeds expected to go to local organizations supporting inclusion and fighting racial injustice.
