Some souls are just built for winter. Larry Roxby and his dogs are among them. Roxby, commonly known as Captain Larry, raises and keeps northern breed dogs and runs dogsled rides and tours near Leavenworth through Northwest Dogsled Adventures. He also races the dogs, as he did at the Dogtown Winter Derby in Cle Elum in January, when his Flying Furs took first place in the six-dog sled race.

From veterans of the Iditarod to rescues, Roxby’s dogs love to run, and they’re happy to drag you along. For more information or to make reservations, go to northwestdogsledadventuresllc.com.
